WHAT IS RASSOUL: Bathing ritual with nourishing muds

The oriental Rassoul bath has its roots in Moroccan baths, is a close relative of the Turkish hammam and continues the idea of a relaxing, almost ritualistic beauty treatment. At Rassoul you will get to know the ancient knowledge of the East and its beneficial effects on the body and soul. The secret of the ritual of purification lies in the interaction of the various elements: fire, earth, air and water. While hot steam wafts through the room and nourishing healing mud cares for the skin, guests breathe in the wonderful aroma of herbs in the air. A warm tropical rain forms the unforgettable end of the ritual bath.

ANTIQUITY AND MYTHOLOGY: the story of Rassoul

The sensual experience of the therapeutic mud steam bath as we know it today is a total rejuvenation treatment. However, this bathing ritual was already very popular in ancient times. And the detoxifying effect of healing clay can also be found in mythology: according to tradition, virgins had to unwrap and cut healing clay pots under the supervision of high priests. They were then placed in jars of water where they dissolved. The combination of pure virgin sweat and healing clay is said to protect against poisoning. It is no longer possible to say whether this actually happened. However, one thing has now been scientifically proven: the cleansing and detoxifying effects of healing clay and mud.

PROCEDURE OF THE BATH Rassoul

The effective Rasul ceremony begins with a short cleansing shower. The guests then apply various therapeutic muds or clay to the body. During a couple’s treatment, rubbing each other with the mud creates a particularly sensual experience. As the mud slowly dries on the skin, the temperature and humidity in Rasul increases. Vapors of steam, accompanied by the soft aroma of herbs, waft through the room. Soft music plays in the background. Guests sit on the heated seats, let the warmth work its magic and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at Rassoul. The humidity in the room makes the mud on the body re-moisturize and guests can rub it gently. The result: A pleasant peeling that stimulates the metabolism. The roughly 25-minute stay at Rasul ends with a warm tropical rain that washes the mud off the body. What remains is well-groomed skin that is soft to the touch.
